Community Services Department is responsible for the following:
- Public safety and security services.
- Social and community development services.
- Fire and Disaster Management Services.
- Provides vehicle licensing services.
- Provides support to other government law enforcement departments by keeping and updating records of licensing information.
- Reduces the rate of accidents on our roads and attend to reported accidents and incidents.
- Protects the environment and provide a safe and healthy environment to the local community through waste management.
- Provides a Libraries Services.
- Promotes sports, arts and culture in uMlalazi.
- Maintenance of municipal public open spaces, parks, gardens and cemeteries, establishment and maintenance of recreational facilities
